He was born on the East side of Detroit, Michigan on February 7, 1991. His birth-given name is Marcellus Rayvon Register. He is currently 32 years old. He is an American rapper, songwriter and actor. He is an African-American by ethnicity and began his rap journey in high school and immediately joined a local crew by name the “Peezy Rap Crew”. Career.
He embarked on his professional journey in high school when he joined a local rap crew formed by fellow Detroit rapper Peezy known as the “Peezy rap crew”. His entry into the crew fuelled his will and drive to pursue music professionally and as such dropped out of high school to fully focus on his career. In 2010, together with Peezy, they joined Team Eastside rap crew.
Fast forward February 4, 2015, he released his debut mixtape titled “MIA season” which gave him the exposure to his audience and he started building himself a loyal fanbase. The 17 tracklist mixtape included features from Peezy, Nuke, Eastside Snoop among others.
Two years later on Christmas day of 2017, he released his joint mixtape with Peezy titled “Ghetto Wave”, a mixtape that was described by his audience as a true embodiment of Detroit rap music.
On November 2019, he released the sequel to MIA season which he titled “MIA season 2”. The mixtape comprised of 15 tracks and was 47 minutes long. By 2020, he has already been solidified and was among the known rappers in the game.
On February 12, 2021, Babyface Ray released his debut EP “Unfukcwitable” with features from popular rappers such as EST Gee, Memphis’ MoneyBagg Yo, fellow Detroit rapper Kash Doll among others. This project was his first most successful projet and it debuted at number 128 on the Billboard 200 on February 27, 2021. In August that same year, he collaborated with popular Detroit MC Big Sean on a single titled “It Ain’t My Fault”. He also got the chance to be a cast in the movie “Playing for Keeps”.
In the early half of 2022, his debut album titled “Face” was released and it attained a milestone by peaking at number 31 on the billboard 200 and number 2 on the Independent Albums chart. The album had guest features from G Herbo, 42 Dugg, Pusha T, Wiz Khalifa among others. Due to his incredible achievements, he was enlisted alongside Big Scarr, SoFaygo, BabyTron, Saucy Santana among others as members of the 2022 XXL Freshman class.
He has attained massive fan base through out his musical journey as such has loyal following on social media platforms such as Instagram where he has over a million followers. And has a YouTube platform with over 306 thousand subscribers.
