Plo Koon was a Kel Dor Jedi Master from the planet Dorin, was introduced to audiences in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, where he was portrayed by Alan Ruscoe and by Matt Sloan in the Attack of Clones and Revenge of the Sith. He was a noble member of the Jedi High Council during the last years of the Galactic Republic. As a Jedi Master, Plo Koon played a significant role in the Clone Wars, a pan-galactic war between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent System, which served as a backdrop for much of the prequel trilogy. He was known for his exceptional piloting skills and often led important and dangerous missions alongside his loyal clone troopers of the 104th Battalion. Plo Koon’s ability to maintain a sense of tranquility even in the midst of chaos made him a respected leader among his fellow Jedi and clones alike.

Plo Koon was born and raised on the planet “Dorin” until he was discovered by the Jedi Order and was selected to be a Padawan (Jedi Apprentice) under Jedi Master Tyvokka until he acquired the necessary knowledge to become a Jedi Master himself and was inducted into the Jedi Council. One of the most intriguing aspects of Plo Koon’s character was his unique connection to the Force. His species’ natural ability to sense changes in the atmosphere allowed him to perceive danger before it became apparent to others. This extraordinary skill, combined with his unwavering dedication to justice and peace, made him an invaluable member of the Jedi Council. He had no speaking lines in the prequel trilogy as he was a background character.

Why did Plo Koon wear mask and googles?

Plo Koon was alien to the oxygen-rich atmosphere of Coruscrant and other planets due to the dusty and unique gas and helium composition of his home planet, Dorin’s atmosphere. In order to survive in the oxygen-rich atmosphere of Coruscant and other planets, he wore a mask as a life-support device to protect his sensitive lungs and nostrils and also wore googles to prevent his eye fluids from evaporating. If a Kel Dor ventured into another planet without protective mask and googles, they would go blind and suffocate. The protective googles also helped to magnify his vision as he had very small black eyes.

Who played the role of Plo Koon in Star Wars?

Plo Koon was portrayed by British actor, Alan Ruscoe in the Phantom Menace and was later portrayed by Matthew Sloan, an American voice actor and director in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of Sith. Both actors displayed class acting skills. In the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, he was voiced by American voice-actor, James Arnold Taylor.

How did Plo Koon discover Ahsoka Tano?

On a mission to the home world of the Togruta, Planet Shili, Plo Koon discovered the then three-year old Ahsoka Tano, upon his return, he brought Ahsoka Tano to the Jedi temple to be trained as a Jedi and she eventually became Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan. Despite not being his Padawan, the two kept in touch and maintained a very close bond.

Despite his stoic and reserved nature, Plo Koon was not without compassion. He had a deep sense of empathy and cared deeply for the well-being of others, often going to great lengths to protect innocent lives. This was evident when he took Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan, under his wing and became her mentor. Plo Koon’s guidance and wisdom played a crucial role in shaping Ahsoka into the skilled Jedi she would become. He shared a special bond with her as he brought her in when she was just a toddler. Although he was not her master, they maintained a close bond throughout her time as a Padawan.

Was Plo Koon the best pilot in Star Wars?

Plo Koon was regarded as one of the best pilots in the Stars Wars and his skills were often praised by his fellow Jedi but he was ranked second-best pilot in the entire Star Wars Franchise after Anakin Skywalker.

Demise of Plo Koon.

Tragically, Plo Koon’s story came to an untimely end during the events of “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.”  as Order 66 was executed, Plo Koon’s starfighter was shot down by clone troopers under the influence of the Emperor’s command. He was shot down by Clone Pilot Jag in his Delta Aethesprite-Interceptor which came crashing down and exploded leading to his demise. He was betrayed by the very clones that he had protected in many battles.

What did Plo Koon look like under his mask?

He had an outward orange appearance. Underneath his protective equipment was a gaping mouth and jaw surrounded by droopy lips and instead of teeth, he had two hard palettes for grinding plant matter. On the sides of his mouth were extrasensory black tusks that helped heighten his senses and reflexes which allowed him to perceive danger before it became apparent to others. He had small black eyes that appeared very silvery.
