Best Guide to Buying an iPhone in Ghana
Don’t rush into trying to buy an iPhone or any other phone in Ghana. Just relax and take it step by step, or else your biggest fear of being duped or given a fake phone may become a reality, and I trust you don’t want that. When you buy an iPhone, you would expect that the phone will automatically start working with your SIM the moment you get it inserted, but that is not the case. There are several iPhone conditions available on the Ghanaian market, i.e., brand new, UK-used iPhones, unlocked, and locked iPhones. Prices for these iPhones differ, so you would have to consider your budget and decide which iPhone condition you would like to purchase.
Brand New iPhone
Brand new iPhones come sealed in a box with all the accessories included. Normally, this iPhone is much more expensive than all the others.
UK Used iPhone
United Kingdom used iPhones are pre-owned iPhones that are brought to the Ghanaian market and sold a little bit cheaper than the brand new ones. UK-used iPhones do not come with accessories and sometimes have a few scratches.
Locked iPhone
Locked iPhones can either be in “new” or “used” condition. When an iPhone is locked, it means it’s not compatible with local sims like MTN, Airtel, Tigo, Vodafone, etc. You must decode the iPhone or use it with a Gevey sim card to make it work with local sim cards.
Unlocked iPhone
Unlocked iPhones can also be in “new” or “used” condition. Unlocked iPhones are universal and are able to work with any local sim like MTN, Airtel, Tigo, Vodafone, and Glo.
You can now make an informed decision after learning about the various types of iPhone conditions available on the Ghanaian market.
