Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ocheretnaya is a former flight attendant for Aeroflot’s Kaliningrad department. She rose to prominence after becoming the ex-wife of Vladimir Putin, who is currently the President of Russia and formerly served as the country’s Prime Minister.
Biography
At the beginning of the eighties, Lyudmila Aleksandrovna got married to Vladimir Putin and became his wife. Despite the fact that both she and her husband have expressed a desire for their marriage to remain private, there have been a great deal of disputes and disagreements around their union.
She was Putin’s wife for close to 30 years before the couple made the difficult decision to divorce one another as a result of the many complexities and difficulties that existed between them.
From May 7th, 2012 to June 6th, 2013, the position was held by Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ocheretnaya, the former First Lady of Russia. Upon the announcement of their divorce, Lyudmila had stated, “Our marriage is ended due to the fact that we rarely see each other.” She went on to say, “Vladimir is entirely drowned in his work.” Our children are now adults, and each one of them is pursuing her own path in life… And I really dislike being in the public eye.”
Early life
Lyudmila was born on January 6, 1958 in Kaliningrad, which was then a part of the Soviet Union. She was brought into this world by her parents, Alexander (Avramovich), her father, and Yekaterina Tikhonovna Shkrebneva, her mother. The father of the former first lady was an employee at the Kaliningrad Mechanical Plant.
The former Soviet Union was where Lyudmila Aleksandrovna pursued her education in linguistics in her homeland of Kaliningrad. After that, in 1986, she enrolled at Leningrad State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree from the Lyudmila Department of Philology’s Spanish language and philology division.
First lady roles
When Putin became President, Lyudmila automatically became the first lady of Russia. As the First Lady, Lyudmila Putin became a curator of a fund that aimed at developing the Russian language. According to Reuters, Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ocheretnaya helped establish the Center for the Development of Inter-Personal Communications, which generates millions of dollars annually. The organization’s offices are located in a building that used to be known as the Volkonsky House.
The building is mainly used by commercial tenants, such as VTB Bank and Sberbank. It has a total rent of around $3–4 million.
