Steven Thomas Lacy-Moya who goes by the stage name Steve Lacy is a multi-talented individual who is a known singer, songwriter, guitarist and record producer. In 2013, he played a key role in the production of the Internet’s third studio album “Ego Death” which was nominated by the Grammy’s for “Best Urban Contemporary Album” at 58th annual edition of the show. He went on to produce a number of songs for artistes such as Denzel Curry’s 2016 song “If Tomorrow’s Not Here”, J Cole, Isaiah Rashad, Kendrick Lamar among others.

The Subsequent years saw him attaining even much greater success, for example in 2019 when he was honored for his production on Solange’s album “When I get home” and even went ahead to release a number of projects including the single “N Side” in April from his first studio album “Apollo XXI” which was released on May 24, 2019.
2022 was the most successful year of his career, his second studio album “Gemini Rights” made it to the top ten of the Billboard 200 charts. “Bad Habits”, a single from the album, went viral and was featured in countless TikTok videos and reels, which helped peaked the song at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and simultaneously topped five different hip-hop and R&B and alternative rock charts, his first song to attain such a milestone and it was the first time that a song had ruled multiples charts. The snippet of the song was featured in over 400,000 videos on TikTok alone. He was nominated by Grammy’s for “Record of The Year” and “Song of The Year” with the album itself winning “Best Progressive R&B Album”.
In 2023, Time Magazine honored him as one of the “100 most influential People in the World”.
He has amassed over 3.5 million followers on IG and has a successful YouTube channel with over a million subscribers.
