Cheslie Kryst, a model, television correspondent, and previous winner of an American beauty contest, was recently named the winner of the 2019 title of Miss USA. As a result of her victory in the contest, she was given the opportunity to compete for the title of Miss Universe 2019 and ended up placing in the top ten of the overall competition.

The model was April Simpkins’ daughter, who is also known for holding the title of Mrs. North Carolina. Cheslie Kryst began her professional life when she was an adolescent, thereby following in her mother’s footsteps.

She began her education with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Human Resource Management, then continued her education with a Juris Doctor and an MBA.

Cheslie Kryst is a civil litigation attorney, and in 2016, she participated in Miss North Carolina USA 2017 and finished as the fourth runner-up. The following year, she placed among the top ten, and she ultimately won the competition for the third time in 2019.

Early life and education

Cheslie Corrinne Kryst was born on April 28, 1991 in Jackson, Michigan to a mother who is of African-American descent and a father who is of Polish-American descent. Page, Asa, Chandler, and Jet were her siblings, and Brooklyn was her only sister. She also had the name Brooklyn. [1] [2][3] [4] Kryst’s mother, April Simpkins, was a pageant contestant and ultimately won the title of Mrs. North Carolina US when Kryst was a young child. When Kryst was a child, her family relocated from Michigan to Charlotte, North Carolina, and then eventually settled in Rock Hill, South Carolina, which is where Kryst attended Northwestern High School. [5] After some time, the family relocated to Fort Mill, South Carolina, and Kryst continued her education at Fort Mill High School, from which she graduated in 2009. Fort Mill and Matthews are both neighborhoods in the Charlotte metropolitan region. [6]

Kryst relocated to Columbia, South Carolina, immediately following her graduation from high school so that she could enroll in the Honors College at the University of South Carolina. She received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and human resource management from the Darla Moore School of Business in 2013, where she was also a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta honor society, the Gamecocks women’s track and field team, and the mock trial team. She graduated with a cum laude degree. [7]

Kryst attended Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for her legal education after completing her undergraduate degree. She graduated with a Juris Doctor degree as well as a Master of Business Administration degree in the year 2017.

Law career

Soon after receiving her law degree, Kryst passed the bar examinations required to become an attorney in both North Carolina and South Carolina. She then started her career as an attorney at Poyner Spruill LLP, where she specialized in the practice of complicated civil litigation. [7][10] She also worked pro bono not only for clients who were low-level drug offenders, but also with Brittany K. Barnett of the Buried Alive Project, in order to free a client who had been sentenced to life in prison. [7][10] She also worked pro bono for clients who were convicted of low-level drug offenses. [11] [12] She is the creator of the fashion site White Collar Glam, which is geared toward assisting women who work in white-collar professions in dressing appropriately for work.
