He manifested his dream into reality and has been active in the game for a decade, his career has not been smooth, it was interrupted when he was incarcerated in 2018 where his fan saw a pause in his career. Career.
Hampton has always had the passion and drive to pursue music since an early age but his journey into professional music commenced in 2012, when he teamed up with other Memphis rappers and MCs such as Don B, YP, MoneyBagg Yo, Blac Youngsta among others to form a rap group known as “Memphis Greatest Underrated” at a time when the Memphis rap scene was buzzing. Hampton even though was incarcerated, he and his collectives rose through the fame and enjoyed individual underground success and fame over the subsequent years. In 2016, he was released from jail and together with his rap collective, released an EP titled “Memphis Greatest Underrated”. The EP featured songs such as “Can’t Take These Hoes”, “Streets Raw”, “A Movie” among others and featured artistes like Don B, Glenda Proby, MoneyBagg Yo, YP among others. The group however couldn’t sustain and it eventually split up.
Hampton did not enjoy smoothness and consistency and was interrupted a lot. In 2017, he was indicted and in December 2018, he was convicted and sentenced to 5 years in jail. However, that did not stop him from pursuing his career.
On February 1 2019, whilst behind bars, he released his mixtape “Hustle and Flow” which featured 15 songs such as “Realionaire”, “Allegations”, “Boom” among others. This mixtape received a lot of positive reviews and recognition. That same year, he had a fallout with his main dude and former group member, MoneyBagg Yo over a string of personal issues.
His career went dull over the subsequent years until in July 2022 when he was released from jail. Upon his release from jail July 1, 2022, Finesse released his hit and most successful song “Back End” on July 22. The song gained so much popularity and even featured in numerous Instagram reels and TikTok videos. The song has amassed over 80 million views on YouTube as well. In September 2022, Finesse2tymes ended his feud with his long-time friend MoneyBagg Yo and was signed to his Bread Gang label. He also featured MoneyBagg Yo on his single “Black Visa”.
In October 2022, he signed a major record deal with Atlantic Records in partnership with J Prince Jr’s Mob Ties label and went on to feature Gucci Mane on his single “Gucci Flow”.
On December 2, 2022, he released his first studio mixtape “90 Days” under Atlantic Records. The album featured artistes such as Lil Baby, MoneyBagg Yo, Gucci Mane among others.
In 2023, he has released a number of projects such as “Can’t Go To Jail” which he featured Memphis rappers Sett and YTB Fatt. He also released a song with Quavo and NBA Youngboy. He has a number of projects in the pipeline which will be released before the end of the year.
