Available front and rear parking assist with automated braking audibly and visually warns you when detects stationary objects or vehicles approaching from the rear. If the systems determine there may be contact with a detected obstacle or vehicle, it will reduce engine power and/or apply the brakes.
Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
The available Blind Spot Monitor warns you when a vehicle in the next lane enters Rav4’s blind spot on either side. When in reverse, available Rear Cross-Traffic Alert helps detect vehicles approaching from either side, visibly with side mirror indicators and audibly with a warning tone.
Pre-Collision System With Pedestrian Detection
The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD) * is meant to assist in detecting a vehicle or a pedestrian. PCS w/PD can deliver an audio/visual alert to warn you of a potential collision using both a camera and radar in certain cases. If you don’t react, the system will automatically apply the brakes.
Automatic High Beams
The Automatic High Beams (AHB) * At speeds above 25 mph, the safety system is meant to assist you see more clearly at night. The AHB technology can detect oncoming vehicles’ headlights and preceding vehicles’ taillights, switching between high and low beams automatically.
Eight Airbags
Every Rav4 comes standard with a driver and front passenger advanced Airbag System with a driver and front passenger seat mounted side airbags, driver’s knee airbag, front passenger seat-cushion airbag, in addition to front and rear side curtain airbags. Road Sign Assist
Using an intelligent camera, Road Sign Assist (RSA) * Detects and displays information on speed limit and yield signs on the Multi-Information Display. It also detects and displays information on Do Not Enter signs and Stop signs.
